(3) Remote control switchRemote control switch (3) is located in the operator station. Remote control switch (3) is an input to Power Train Electronic Control Module (ECM) (10). Remote control switch (3) supplies power to interface control module (1) and remote control activation light (5).

(12) Transmitter (13) BatteryTransmitter (12) is used by the operator to control machine functions by remote control. Transmitter (12) sends radio signals to receiver (2). Transmitter (12) is powered by battery (13). All other components in the remote control system are powered by the machine electrical system.

Typical example (1) Interface control module (2) ReceiverInterface control module (1) and receiver (2) are located in the machine hydraulic tank compartment.Receiver (2) interprets the radio signals from transmitter (12). Receiver (2) sends an electrical signal for on/off functions or a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) electrical signal for proportional functions to interface control module (1) .Interface control module (1) contains a relay for each remote control on/off function. Interface control module (1) has two types of outputs; electrical signals and PWM electrical signals.Electrical signals for on/off functions from receiver (2) energize a relay for each remote control function. The relay will switch the power or ground to the corresponding machine electrical circuits.The PWM electrical signals for proportional functions are sent directly to the solenoid valves mounted on steering and bucket control valve (7). Also the PWM electrical signal is sent to the Engine Electronic Control Module (ECM) for the throttle control.

(7) Steering and bucket control valve (8) Solenoid control valves (9) Solenoid operated directional control valveSteering and bucket control valve (7) is located on the rear frame near the articulation hitch.Steering and bucket control valve (7) contains six solenoid valves. Four solenoid control valves (8) control the machine bucket functions and two solenoid directional control valves (9) control the machine steering functions. The solenoids receive PWM signals from interface control module (1).

(10) Power Train Electronic Control Module (ECM)Power Train ECM (10) is located in the operators station under the seat. Power Train ECM (10) controls transmission upshifts and downshifts and parking brake solenoids.
