BUCKET AS-PENETRATION 9V9756 - Caterpillar

Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (10). The weight of turbocharger (10) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb).
Install gasket (37) and turbocharger (10).
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of four bolts (36).
Install bolts (36) and the four locknuts. Do not tighten the bolts completely at this time.

Loosen the nuts on V-band clamps (32) and (34) to allow cartridge assembly (33) and compressor housing (35) to rotate.

Connect hose assemblies (26), (30), and (31).
Connect tube assembly (27).
Install elbow (28) and clamp (29).
Tighten clamp (29).

Tighten two clamps (25).
Tighten four bolts (36) to a torque of 70 5 N m (52 4 lb ft).

Position V-band clamp (32), vertically, as shown.
Position V-band clamp (34), horizontally, as shown.
Tighten the nuts on V-band clamp (34) to a torque of 13.6 1.2 N m (120 10 lb in).
Tighten the nuts on V-band clamp (32) to a torque of 18 1.6 N m (160 14 lb in). Loosen nuts on V-band clamp (32) 1 to 2 turns. Tighten the nuts on V-band clamp (32) to a torque of 13.6 1.2 N m (120 10 lb in).

Install Heat Shield As (24).

Install Heat Shield As (21). Connect spring (22) and spring (23).

Install Heat Shield As (17). Connect spring (18), spring (19), and spring (20).

Install Heat Shield As (14). Connect spring (12), spring (13), spring (14), and spring (15).

Install exhaust joint (11) and clamp (9) to turbocharger (10).
Tighten clamp (9).
Install two metal seal rings (8). Note: Install metal seal rings (8) with the ring end gaps 180 degrees apart.

Install two metal seal rings (7) to elbow (3). Note: Install metal seal rings (7) with the ring end gaps 180 degrees apart.

Install elbow (3).
Install three bolts (6).
Install two retainers (5) and two bolts (4).

Install heat shields (1) and (2).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the capacity of the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change" for the proper filling procedure. End By:
Install the air cleaner. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install".
Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".
