See the replacement article that follows.An improved procedure has been introduced for removing the fuel injection pump on 3024C engines. Failure to follow the procedure may result in damage to the fuel rack control. The procedure is described below.
Apply a positive force to the fuel rack control through the opening of the fuel shutoff solenoid.
This will force the fuel rack control past this opening.
Remove the fuel injection pump.To install the fuel injection pump, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Injection Pump - Install" for the correct procedure.
