To replace the former 5R1501 Switch with the new 9G2795 Switch on earlier machines, use the Installation And Adjustment Procedure that follows. Installation And Adjustment Procedure
1. Disconnect and remove the 5R1501 Switch. Remove the switch mounting plate from the console.2. Use SAE1008 carbon steel to fabricate a switch mounting bracket. See Illustration 1.3. Use SAE1008 carbon steel to fabricate a mounting plate. See Illustration 2.4. Use E7018 electrode or an equivalent to weld the mounting plate to the console. See Illustration 3.

Illustration 3. Installation of mounting plate.5. Install the switch mounting bracket on the mounting plate with two S509 Bolts and 1F750 Nuts. See Illustration 4.6. Install the new 9G2795 Switch on the switch mounting bracket. Position the switch so that the vertical center line of the switch is toward the operator, 3 mm (.12") from the center line of the pivot pin for the elevator speed control lever. See Illustration 4.7. Check the operation of the 9G2795 Switch with an ohmmeter or continuity light. The vertical position of the switch must be adjusted so that: a. The switch is open when the elevator speed control lever is in the hold or reverse position.b. The switch is closed when the elevator speed control lever is in the low or high speed forward position.c. The switch is not at the end of its travel when the elevator speed control lever is in the high speed forward position.
