Clean both ends of bushing (5) until the bushings are clean and dry. Put clean SAE 90 oil on both ends of the bushing.

Put pilot pin (6) in the bushing. The tapered end of the pin must be installed properly, as shown.
Install thrust rings (7) and (8) .
Install seals (9) .
Make sure that the seals and the thrust rings are clean and dry. Put clean SAE 90 oil on the lip of the seal and the ends of the bushing.

Install the track links in the bushings with tool (A) .

If a new track pin is used, put clean SAE 90 oil on the rubber stopper (10). Put the rubber stopper in tool (B) .
The pins can be filled with oil at a later time, if the tooling that is used for lubrication is available. If the tooling that is used for lubrication is not available and the rubber stopper is closed, use the following steps.
Push the small plug, that is in the center of the rubber stopper, into the drilled passage of the pin. Use a punch to push the plug.
Put tape over the hole in the side of the pin.
Put clean SAE 90 oil in the hole of the rubber stopper.

Install the rubber stopper in track pin (11) with tool (B) .

Put track pin (11) into tool (A). Make sure that the oil hole is up. Remove the tape from the oil hole.
In order to prevent damage to the thrust rings, install tool (A) so that the track pin will push against the large diameter of the pilot pin.
Push the track pins into the track links until 19.05 mm (0.75 inch) of the track pin is showing.
Remove the pilot pin from the press arrangement.

Put 7M-7260 Liquid Gasket Material on track pin (11) and in the pin bore of track link (12) .
Push track pin (11) into the track assembly.
Remove tool (A) .
Put tool (C) between the track links. Separate the track links far enough in order to allow the track links and the bushings to be assembled.

Make sure that both ends of bushing (4), seals (13) and thrust rings (14) are clean, free of dirt and foreign material.
Put clean SAE 90 oil on seals (13) and the ends of bushing (4) .
Install thrust rings (14) .

Put shims (15) between the bushings and the track links. This will protect the face of the seals from damage.
Move the track links and the track pins together.
Remove shims (15) and tool (C) .
Install the pilot pin in order to keep the track links, the bushings and the thrust rings in alignment.
Install the track pin. Follow Steps 13 through 18.

If the track pins are not filled with SAE 90 oil during assembly, fill the track pins by using the following steps.
Push the plug into the rubber stopper in the drilled passage of the track pin.
Use tool (D) to fill the pins with oil.
Install plug (16) .
