2. Disconnect universal joint (2) from yoke (5).3. Put drive shaft (3) to the side and out of the way.4. Remove three bolts, lock and the washer from the front drive shaft.5. Remove yoke (5) and O-ring seal.6. Disconnect lubrication line (1).7. Remove bolts (4) that hold support bearing to the chassis. 8. Remove drive shaft (6) and support bearing as a unit. 9. Remove two bolts (7) from cover. 10. Remove shaft (8) from retainer (9), bearing (11) and cover (10).11. Remove the lip type seals from the retainer and the cover.Install Front Drive Shaft And Support Bearing
1. Install seals in the cover and retainer with tooling (A). The lip must be toward the outside. Fill the bearing with 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease before assembly. 2. Install the retainer (1), bearing (2) and cover (3) on the drive shaft.3. Install the two bolts that hold cover to retainer.4. Install the drive shaft and bearing in machine as a unit. 5. Install four bolts (5) that hold support bearing to chassis.6. Install yoke (6), O-ring seal, washer, lock and three bolts.
Install yoke so it is in alignment with yoke on the opposite end of drive shaft.
7. Connect lubrication line (4). 8. Connect the drive shaft to the universal joint at the front differential and support bearing.9. Tighten bolts in universal joints to 98 10 lb.ft. (134 14 N m).
