START BY:a. remove bucketb. remove tilt cylinderc. remove bucket lever and link 1. Put a block under the lift arms to hold the lift arms up when the lift cylinders are disconnected. 2. Fasten a strap and hoist to the rod of the lift cylinder as shown. Remove grease fitting (1) and bolt (2) from the pin.
943 Shown3. Install tooling (A) on a 943 or (B) on a 953 as shown, and fasten a strap to hold the tooling when the pin is clear of the cylinder. The tooling will fall if it is not held in some way. Use the tooling to remove the pin from the rod end of the lift cylinder.
To prevent damage to the oil tube on the lift cylinder, put a block (3) under the cylinder when it is lowered.
4. Lower the lift cylinder on to block (3).5. Do Steps 2 through 4 again for the other lift cylinder. 6. Remove grease fitting (4) and bolt (6) from the pins that hold the lift arms to the frame. Remove the bolts that hold guards (5) for the lights in place. Move the guards clear of the pins, and use a piece of wire to hold the guards. 7. Fasten a hoist to the lift arms. Install tooling (A) as shown, and fasten a strap to hold the tooling when the pin is clear of the frame. The tooling will fall if it is not held in some way. Use tooling (A) to remove pins (7) that hold the lift arms to the frame. 8. Remove lift arms (8). Weight of the 943 lift arm is 743 kg (1650 lb.). Weight of the 953 lift arms is 927 kg (2060 lb.).Install Lift Arms
1. Put clean grease on the bearing in the lift arms. Fasten a hoist to lift arms (1), and put the lift arms in position on the frame. Weight of the 943 lift arms is 743 kg (1650 lb.). Weight of the 953 lift arms is 927 kg (2060 lb.). 2. Install pins (2) that hold the lift arms to the frame. Be careful not to damage the seals in the lift arms when the pins are installed. 3. Install bolts (4) that hold the pins in place, and tighten the bolts to a torque of 200 25 N m (150 20 lb.ft.). Install grease fittings (3) in the pins.4. Put guards (5) and the lights in position on the frame, and install the bolts that hold them in place. 5.
