Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Install wiper seal (12), seal assembly (13), O-ring seal (11), and backup ring (10) onto head assembly (2).

Install O-ring seal (8) and backup ring (9) onto piston (4).

Install head assembly (2) onto rod assembly (1).
Install spacer (6), O-ring seal (7), piston (4), and nut (5) onto rod assembly (1). Tighten nut (5) to a torque of 325 14 N m (240 10 lb ft).

Install head assembly (2) and rod assembly (1) into cylinder assembly (3). Tighten head assembly (2) to a torque of 390 185 N m (287 136 lb ft). End By:
Install the hydraulic cylinder.
