PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual that is appropriate for your machine.
1. Remove the 234-4601 Stick Cylinder Group from the machine.
2. Disassemble the stick cylinder group by removing the head assembly and the rod assembly from the cylinder assembly.

3. Replacement of the cylinder assembly is not mandatory, but if there have been repeated seal failures or the seal failure occurred at low hours, replacement of the cylinder assembly is recommended.
If the cylinder assembly is being considered for reuse, measure the inside diameter of the cylinder barrel at the joint for the head seal. The specification for the inside diameter is 170.0 +/- 0.1 mm (6.693 +/- 0.004 inch).
4. If the inside diameter of the cylinder barrel is oversize, the 242-6806 Cylinder Assembly must be replaced by a 289-8032 cylinder assembly.

5. Install a new 095-1726 O-Ring Seal and a new 7Y-4945 Backup Ring in the cylinder head. Use 1U6396 O-Ring Compound.
Reassemble the Stick Cylinder Group. Perform a bench test and make sure that the stick cylinder group does not leak. Reinstall the stick cylinder group on the machine.
