The new routing of the harnessThe position of the chassis harness assembly has changed. Formerly, the chassis harness assembly was routed on the outside of the walkway on left platform. Now, the chassis harness assembly is routed in the middle of the walkway on the left platform. The new route will better protect the harness during operation.Adaptable To: The new 298-4580 Chassis Harness As is now used in the 247-5619 Lighting Wiring Gp (Payload) (Signal) (Lamp). The former 247-5624 Chassis Harness As was removed from the 247-5619 Lighting Wiring Gp (Payload) (Signal) (Lamp). The new chassis harness assembly is not adaptable to earlier machines. The new chassis harness assembly became effective in production with the machine JRP603-UP.In order to protect the former 247-5624 Chassis Harness As that is on machines JRP1-602, two new plates can be installed to the fender. Two new 314-8400 Plates are available through the parts distribution system. Use the following procedure in order to update the earlier machines.

Remove the bolts and washers from the harness clips that are on the beam.Note: Leave the cable straps on the clips on the ladder.

By using two bolts (1), two hard washers (2) and two spacers (3), attach one plate (5) to the front beam.

Place second plate (5) even with the bottom of the left beam.
By using a marker, mark the position of the slots in the plate on the beam.

(W1) Make a 3 mm (0.12 inch) fillet weld around the two bosses.
Refer to Special Instruction, REHS1841, "General Welding Procedures". By using the proper welding procedures, weld the two bosses (4) to the beam.

By using two bolts (1), two hard washers (2) and two spacers (3), attach second plate (5) to the beam.
