BUSHING 2736788 - Caterpillar

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. 2. Remove fuel lines (1) from the engine.3. Disconnect junction box (2) from the brackets that hold it to the engine, and fasten it to the engine as shown in illustration B36292X1.4. Remove oil tube (3) from the engine. 5. Remove water tube (4), and remove bolts (5) that hold water line (6) to adapter (7). 6. Remove bolts (8), and remove water line (6) from the engine. 7. Remove elbow (9) from the aftercooler housings. 8. Remove bolts (10), and remove adapter (7) from the aftercooler housings. 9. Remove sleeve (11) and adapter (12) from both ends of the aftercooler housings. 10. Remove bolts (13) to disconnect air lines (16) from air intake shutoff housing (15) and exhaust manifolds (17). Disconnect wiring harness (14). 11. Use tooling (A) to fasten a hoist to aftercooler housings (18). Remove the bolts that hold the aftercooler housings to the engine, and remove aftercooler housings (18). The weights of the aftercooler housings are as follows: 3508 Engines - 36 kg (79 lb.), 3512 Engines - 82 kg (181 lb.), 3516 Engines - 84 kg (185 lb.).
Be careful when the aftercooler core assembly is removed. The lower part of the core is held in position by a connector and O-ring seals.
12. Fasten a hoist to aftercooler core assembly (19). Remove bolts (20), and remove the core assembly. The weights of the core assemblies are as follows: 3508 Engines - 29 kg (64 lb.), 3512 Engines - 52 kg (115 lb.), 3516 Engines - 64 kg (141 lb.). 13. Remove O-ring seals (21) from each end of the core assembly.14. Remove ring (23) to remove connector (22) from the core assembly. Remove the O-ring seals from connector (22).
