Assembly Procedure
Verify that all of the components are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation. Inspect all O-ring seals and components and replace the O-ring seals and the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install two O-ring seals (26) and (27) to check valve (17) .
Install valve (28), spring (29), and dowel (31) to check valve (17) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install O-ring seal (32) to plug (30). Install plug (30) to check valve (17) .

Install three O-ring seals (22), (23), and (24) to relief valve (15) .
Install nut (25), cap (20), and two gaskets (21) to relief valve (15) .

Install spool (12), shims (13), and spring (18) to brake valve (1). Install O-ring seal (19) to plug (14). Install plug (14) to brake valve (1) .
Install relief valve (15) and check valve (17) to brake valve (1) .
If necessary, adjust relief valve (16) to the correct setting. Refer to Air System and Brakes, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Parking Brake System Pressure - Test and Adjust" for the correct procedure.

Install seal (10) and lip seal (11) to head (7) .

Install two seals (5) and (9) to piston (6) .
Install head (7) and piston (6) to air cylinder (3). Install retaining ring (8) to air cylinder (3) .Note: The head and the piston must be carefully inserted into the cylinder body. The cylinder assembly is constructed of aluminum and the cylinder assembly can easily be scratched. Avoid damaging the piston, the seals, or the cylinder wall. The head and the piston may bind at the slot of the retaining ring.

Install O-ring seal (4) to air cylinder (3) .

Position air cylinder (3) to brake valve (1), as shown. Install two bolts (2) and the washers that hold air cylinder (3) to brake valve (1) .
Install all of the fittings to brake valve (1), as shown.End By: Install the brake valve (parking brake release). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Brake Valve (Parking Brake Release) - Install".
