(A) Extension test (B) Retraction test
Start the engine.
Place the machine on level ground.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).
Empty the bucket.
Fully extend the bucket cylinder and fully retract the stick cylinder. Refer to Illustration 1.
Position the bucket on the ground. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to extend the boom cylinder to full extension.Note: Do not include the time of the snubber operation of the boom cylinder.
Position the boom cylinders at full extension. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required for the bucket to come in contact with the ground.
Refer to the specifications in Table 1 for the operating speed of the boom cylinders.Stick Cylinder

Start the engine.
Place the machine on level ground.

Empty the bucket.
Position the upper surface of the boom parallel to the ground.
Fully extend the bucket cylinder. Refer to Illustration 2.
Fully retract the stick cylinder. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to extend the stick cylinder to full extension.
Fully extend the stick cylinder. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to retract the stick cylinder to full retraction.Note: Do not include the time of the snubber operation of the stick cylinders.

Fully extend the bucket cylinder. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to retract the bucket cylinder to full retraction.
