Left Auger Mode SwitchThe left auger mode switch has two inputs to the ECM: MANUAL and AUTO. During normal operation, one of the inputs is open and the other input is returned (grounded). When a circuit is measured with a multimeter, an open circuit will measure 5 DCV and a grounded circuit will measure approximately 0 DCV. Diagnostic code CID 001 FMI F12 is recorded when both switch inputs are grounded at the same time.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are:
The MANUAL signal circuit is grounded.
The AUTO signal circuit is grounded.
The left auger mode switch is malfunctioning.
The ECM has malfunctioned. This is unlikely.System Response:The results of this diagnostic code are:
The feeder diagnostic lamp is ON
The auger and the conveyor for the left side will not operate. Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code CID 001 FMI F12 is on hold and that the diagnostic code is active. If the diagnostic code is not active, toggle the switch until the switch is in the position where the diagnostic code is active.Test Step 1. Check MANUAL Signal Circuit This step checks the resistance of the MANUAL signal in the machine harness and the switch.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the ECM.
