The boom may shift on the listed machines. This may cause the boom to rub against the loader frame. This problem affects machines that have the 235-0727 Pin Cartridge As .Solution
If the pin is flush with the insert, the pin must be removed. Then, weld the boom and rebore the boom. Finally, reinstall the pin. Reuse the pin if the pin has not leaked. Metal movement on the areas at the press fit is acceptable.If the pin is not flush with the insert, perform the following procedure.
Remove the left end cap and remove the right end cap.
Remove all shims under the caps.
If you want to move the boom to the left, install the left end cap with three or four bolts. Torque the bolts until the boom moves to the center or the pin becomes flush with the insert.
Remove the end cap and measure the depth of the pin to the insert. If the pin is 2 mm (0.08 inch) inside the lip of the insert, add 3 mm (0.12 inch) of shims and reinstall the end cap.
Remove the other end cap and measure the depth of the pin to the insert. If the pin is 7 mm (0.28 inch) inside the lip of the insert, add 8 mm (0.32 inch) of shims and reinstall the end cap.
Ensure that there is a 1 mm (0.04 inch) gap between the end cap and the insert. This ensures that the bolts will be fully torqued on the end of the pin.This procedure should shift the boom into a better position. Continue to inspect the boom for any movement on the pin.
