Pressure Control (Restrictor) Valve
(1) Pressure tap.6. Stop the engine and then move the bulldozer and ripper control levers to all of their positions.7. Remove floor plate, four bolts (2) and cover (3). 8. Remove the springs from the dump valve and either add shims (4) for an increase or remove shims for a decrease in the pressure of the pilot system oil.

Make reference to the Warning on the first page of testing and adjusting section. Also, always replace floor plate when performing tests and whenever possible perform tests with oil temperature below 66°C (150°F) to prevent serious burns. Do not hold pressure gauges in hand or lap when checking pressure readings.
There are two relief valves in the hydraulic system. Both relief valves are part of the bulldozer control valve that is under the floor of the tractor. One of the relief valves is the bulldozer tilt relief valve (small pump section). The main relief valve is for the bulldozer lift and lower, the ripper tip and lift and lower.Move the machine to a location where the blade can be lowered and will be level on the ground (floor). Get the hydraulic oil to operating temperature. Stop the engine. Move the control lever for the bulldozer to each operation position several times to take the pressure out of the lines. Lower the bulldozer and ripper to the ground and stop the engine. Move the bulldozer and ripper controls to all of their positions. If the tractor is equipped with a single bulldozer tilt cylinder, proceed to step no. 1.If the tractor is equipped with dual tilt cylinders, one port of the tilt cylinders must be blocked. Once blocked, proceed to step no. 1.
Before loosening any dual tilt cylinder line, make sure that both tilt cylinders are fully retracted and the bulldozer is resting on the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure.
1. Put a 0 to 28 000 kPa (0 to 4000 psi) pressure gauge on the 6V3081 Hose.2. Remove the floor from the tractor.3. Go through the opening (floor removed) and connect the gauge and hose to pressure tap (1) on the pressure control (restrictor) valve.4. Install the floor plate.
