Problem
On some 2N2384 and 2N2385 Fuel Shutoff Solenoids the plungers have too much travel and cause the pull coil to energize again.
Action Required
Use the information which follows and a 6V3030, 6V7070 or 6V7700 Digital Multi-Meter to check the 2N2384 and 2N2385 Solenoids. 1. Connect the meter to the "R" and the unmarked terminals. (Do not connect to the "g" terminal.) Set the meter on the 200 Ohm range. 2. Check the meter reading with the plunger in the extended position. It should be: 2N2384 - less than 1 Ohm 2N2385 - less than 2 Ohms. 3. Push the plunger completely into the solenoid, and hold it there. The meter should show: 2N2384 - over 10 Ohms 2N2385 - over 40 Ohms. If the measured resistance in Step 3 is less than the specification, the solenoid is defective and should be removed from parts stock. WARRANTY ALLOWANCES Submit one claim for all 2N2384 and 2N2385 Solenoids in parts stock that are found to be defective.
