Schematic of the Diode BlockWhen a diode is tested in the "Forward" direction (Pin 2 to Pin 1), the multimeter should read 0.7 0.2 VDC. When a diode is tested in the "Reverse" direction (Pin 1 to Pin 2), the multimeter should indicate "Over Limit" (OL) status.

Set the multimeter to the "Diode Test" mode.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the Diode Pack from the machine harness.
Use the multimeter to test the diodes of the Diode Pack according to Table 1.Expected Result:The multimeter readings are consistent with Table 1.Results:
YES - The multimeter readings are consistent with the table. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The multimeter readings are NOT consistent with the table.Repair: The Diode Pack has failed. Replace the Diode Pack.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK FOR PROPER GROUND AT THE SPEED DIAL.
The Diode Block remains disconnected from the machine harness.
The machine harness remains connected to the speed dial.
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
At the harness connector for the Diode Block, connect a jumper wire between contact 1 (wire C235-BK) and contact 2 (wire N703-BR).
Remove the 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe from the voltage supply wire (contact A).
At the back of the harness connector for the speed dial, insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the ground wire (contact B).
Measure the resistance from contact B to frame ground.Expected Result:The resistance is less than 5 ohms.Results:
OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The ground circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NOT OK - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The ground circuit in the machine harness has failed.Repair: Replace the machine harness or repair the machine harness.STOPTest Step 4. CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS OF THE SPEED DIAL FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT.
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
The jumper from the previous Test Step remains.
Disconnect the machine harness from the speed dial.
At the harness connector for the speed dial, connect a jumper wire between contact B (wire C235-BK) and contact C (wire K708-BU).
Disconnect the machine harness connectors from the ECM.
At the harness connector for the ECM, measure the resistance between contact J1-21 (wire C235-BK) and contact J1-37 (wire K708-BU).Expected Result:The resistance measurement is less than 5 ohms.Results:
OK - The resistance measurement is less than 5 ohms. The circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 5.
NOT OK - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The circuit is not correct. There is an open circuit in the wiring harness.Repair: There is an open circuit in the wiring harness. Repair the wiring harness or replace the wiring harness.STOPTest Step 5. CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS OF THE SPEED DIAL FOR
