Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Unplug harness connector (B) from boom down control pressure sensor (A). Install connector cap (1) onto the harness connector. Use two cable straps (2) to strap the harness connector and harness (C) to the adjacent harness.

Unplug harness connector (E) from swing control pressure sensor (D). Install connector cap (1) onto the harness connector. Use two cable straps (2) to strap the harness connector and harness (F) to the adjacent harness.

Remove switch (G) from shuttle valve (K) and save. Disconnect hose (J) from tee (H). This hose will not be connected to the new valve. Remove the remaining hoses from the valve.
Remove the bolts and washers that secure the shuttle valve to the machine and remove the valve.

Place shuttle valve (3) into position and secure with the bolts and washers from the removed valve.
Install eight elbows (7), O-rings (4), and O-rings (6) to the right side of the valve. Install eight adapters (8), O-rings (4), and O-rings (6) to the left side of the valve. Install the hoses to the correct port.Note: The port numbers are different on the new shuttle valve. Use the color tags on the hoses to ensure that the hoses are installed at the correct port.
Install O-ring (4) and plug (5) onto hose (J). Secure hose (J) to an adjacent hose using cable strap (2).

(G) Switch
Install O-ring (9) onto switch (G). Install the switch onto the new valve. Tighten the switch to 23 2 N m (17 2 lb ft). Use three cable straps (2) to secure the switch harness to the adjacent harness.
