(1) Dust boot
Fold old dust boot (1) upward in order to expose the mounting hardware and the wiring harness.Note: There is no need to remove any of the cab console. Just cut the harness on the old handle for easy removal and temporarily remove the DT connector on the new harness for the easy installation.

(2) Adapter
Remove the old handle from the hydraulic valve and install 264-3243 Adapter (2). Torque adapter to 115 14 N m (85 10 lb ft)

(3) Grommet Assembly
Temporarily remove grommet assembly (3) for the wiring harness in order to make the installation of the joystick harness easier.

Route the new harness and install the new handle.Note: The new 262-2003 Handle Control Gp (GRAPPLE CONTROL) has the 12-pin connector that will be replaced with an 8-pin connector 155-2264 Connector Plug As . You may want to remove the connector before you guide the harness through the plastic and the sheet metal. Align the joystick and torque the joystick before you finish the harness.

Install the 155-2264 Connector Plug As connector. Use the connector pin-outs in Illustration 5.
Reinstall the grommet and the hardware that was removed for the installation.

Boot retainer
When you replace the 183-4485 Joystick Control Gp it may be necessary to use the 262-2002 Dust Boot and the 275-3592 Retainer As in order to properly cover the handle.

(4) Pop Rivet
Use 3/16 inch pop rivets (4) to secure the boot retainer to the console.

Position the new joystick for the operator's convenience before you tighten the joystick to the adapter.
