Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the flexible exhaust pipe from the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flexible Exhaust Pipe - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Loosen hose clamps and disconnect the hose assemblies from turbocharger inlet (6) and from turbocharger outlet (3).
Remove banjo bolt (1) from tube assembly (13). Remove sealing washers (2) (not shown).
Disconnect tube nut (14) and remove tube assembly (13) from turbocharger (10) and the cylinder block.
If equipped, Remove hose clamp (4) from hose assembly (5). Disconnect the hose assembly from turbocharger (10).
Remove hose clamp (8) from hose assembly (7). Disconnect the hose assembly from wastegate actuator (9).
Remove bolts (12) from tube assembly (15).
Remove gasket (11) (not shown).

If necessary, follow Step 8.a through Step 8.f in order to remove tube assembly (15) from the cylinder block.
Drain the coolant from the coolant system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct procedure.
Remove bolts (16) and bolts (16A). Position tube assembly (20) away from oil cooler (22).
Remove O-ring seal (17) (not shown) from tube assembly (20).
Remove bolt (18) from bracket (19). Position bracket away from oil cooler (22).
Remove tube assembly (15) from the cylinder block. Ensure that the tube assembly is not damaged as the tube assembly is removed from the cylinder block.
Remove O-ring seals (21) (not shown) from tube assembly (15).

Remove nuts (25) from turbocharger (10).
Remove turbocharger (10) from exhaust manifold (23). Note: Do not use the actuator rod to lift the turbocharger.
Remove gasket (24) (not shown).
If necessary, remove the studs (26) from turbocharger (10) and exhaust manifold (23).

If necessary, follow Step 13.a through Step 13.g in order to remove boost pressure chamber cover (38).
Remove alternator (31) and the mounting bracket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove bolts (36) and remove boost pressure chamber cover (38) from the oil cooler. Note: Note the position of different length bolts.
Remove hose assembly (7) and hose assembly (28) from clips (32), clip (27), and clip (33).
Remove banjo bolt (34) and remove sealing washers (35) (not shown) from hose assembly (7). Remove the hose assembly boost pressure chamber cover (28).
Loosen hose clamp (29) and disconnect hose assembly (28) from wastegate solenoid (30).
Remove banjo bolt (39) and remove sealing washers (40) (not shown) from hose assembly (28). Remove the hose assembly boost pressure chamber cover (28).
Remove gasket (37) (not shown).
