1. Loosen the bolt assemblies and remove the clamp and damper lower halves (2) from the fuel injection lines.2. Remove the bolts that hold fuel injection lines brackets (1) in position on both sides of the engine. 3. Loosen fuel line nuts (4) from the valve cover bases. Loosen fuel line nuts (5) from the fuel injection pump housing.4. Remove fuel injection lines (3) from the engine.5. Put protection caps (5F2807) and plugs (2F2990) on the fuel lines, injection pumps and valve cover base adapters to keep dirt and foreign material out of the fuel system. The following steps are for the installation of the fuel injection line.6. Make sure the fuel injection lines are clean and dry.7. Put fuel injection lines (3) in position on the engine. Tighten all fuel line nuts to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb.ft.) with tool (A).8. Make sure the bolt assemblies that hold the fuel line clamps and dampers together are tightened to a torque of 10 3 N m (7 2 lb.ft.).9. Install the dampers and clamps (2) to hold the fuel lines. Tighten the bolt assemblies to a torque of 10 3 N m (7 2 lb.ft.).10. Install the bolts to hold brackets (1) in position on both sides of the engine.11. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.
