The 359-3349 Angle Blade needs to be reworked on the products listed below. The existing blade can exhibit some interference that may hinder the blade transportation position and prevent from meeting the 3 meter shipping overall width requirement. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 08Jun2012 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
When folding the blade, it may be impossible to lock the removable side of the blade with the pin. Refer to Image 1.1.1.

1. Check area 1 and 2 in order to localize the interference between the blade moldboard and the channels. Refer to Image1.2.1.

2. Grind the moldboard where needed. Refer to Image1.3.1 for example. Grind the moldboard where needed until the blade can reach the maximum folded position and you can place bar (2) and pins (1) in order to lock the removable side of the blade. Refer to Image1.3.2.

3. Repaint the reworked areas on the blade. Refer to Image1.4.1.

4. When placing the blade in the shipping position, after removing the left-hand pin (3) from the left link and sliding this link to the transportation position, refer to Image1.5.1, there may be an interference between the angle cylinder and the link. Refer to Image1.5.2.

5. In this situation, grind the link to remove the interference and repaint.
