There may be several specific safety messages on your engine. The exact location and a description of the messages are reviewed in this section. Become familiar with all of the messages.Ensure that all of the messages are legible. Clean the messages or replace the messages if the words cannot be read or if the illustrations are not visible. Use a cloth, water, and soap for cleaning the messages. Do not use solvents, gasoline, or other harsh chemicals. Solvents, gasoline, or harsh chemicals could loosen the adhesive that secures the messages. The messages that are loosened could drop off the engine.Replace any message that is damaged or missing. If a message is attached to a part of the engine that is replaced, install a new message on the replacement part. Your Cat dealer can provide new messages.

When the engine is in the AUTOMATIC mode, the engine can start at any moment. To avoid personal injury, always remain clear of the the engine when the engine is in the AUTOMATIC mode.
Crushing (5)This safety message is located on each side of the terminal box on the low voltage generator.

Hot Surface (6)This safety message is located on each side on the barrel of the generator. This message is located on each side of the engine near the middle. The message is also located on each side of the radiator.
