This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1384" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1384" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
Problem
The hydraulic tank needs to be inspected and plates cleaned on certain 938G Wheel Loaders and IT38G Toolcarriers. During the process of administering the PI1367, baffles and gusset plates were shipped painted to prevent rust and or corrosion. This protective coating is not compatible with the oil in the hydraulic system. The coating may lift from these parts and contaminate the hydraulic system.

Action Required
Determine if the machine was previously reworked according to PI1367.
If PI1367 was previously performed, but the rework was completed with gussets and baffles knowingly cleaned and/or stripped of a protective coating, do NOT perform this letter. If you are unsure of the condition of these pieces then proceed with this program.
1. Assure machine is parked on a level surface and is locked / tagged out.2. Raise hood completely and shut off main battery disconnect.3. Vent tank by removing the filler cap.4. Drain hydraulic oil from tank, capture and protect for reuse.5. Remove Hydraulic filter cover and filter. Protect them and set them aside for reuse.6. Inspect the baffles and gusset plates for paint (protective coating). If this protective coating can be identified, then proceed with the instructions in PI1367 for tank removal, disassembly, cleaning of the 5P2341 Gussets and 1603441 Baffle and installation .7. If 1603441 Baffle and 5P2341 Gussets are clean of all paint, labels and/or protective coating, reassemble filter system and fill hydraulic tank.Owner Notification
