Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Remove".Note: The cooling system components and weights may vary depending on your arrangement.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

Remove hose assemblies (1) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to mounting bracket (2) and fuel cooler (3) . The dry weight of mounting bracket (2) and fuel cooler (3) is approximately 18 kg (40 lb). Remove bolts (4) in order to remove mounting bracket (2) and fuel cooler (3) .

Remove bolts (5) in order to remove fuel cooler (3) .Installation Procedure

Place fuel cooler (3) into position and install bolts (5) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to mounting bracket (2) and fuel cooler (3) . The dry weight of mounting bracket (2) and fuel cooler (3) is approximately 18 kg (40 lb). Place mounting bracket (2) and fuel cooler (3) into position. Install bolts (4) .

Install hose assemblies (1) .
Turn the fuel supply to the ON position.End By: Install the fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Install".
