Turbocharger
Start By:a. remove air cleaner housings 1. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.2. Remove turbocharger oil drain tubes (3), elbow (5) and the gaskets from the engine. Remove elbows (5) and the O-ring seal from drain tubes (3).3. Disconnect oil supply lines (1) from the turbochargers.4. Remove water supply tube assemblies (4) and housing assembly (2) from the turbochargers and the cylinder block, respectively. 5. Remove three bolts (9) that hold each pipe flange (6) to the housing. Remove pipes (8) and the O-ring seals from the end of each pipe.6. Remove tube assemblies (7) from the turbochargers and exhaust manifolds. Remove the O-ring seals from the tube assemblies. 7. Fasten a nylon strap and a hoist on each turbocharger. Remove bolts (11) that hold the turbochargers to the exhaust manifolds. Remove turbochargers (10) and the gasket. The weight of the turbocharger is 61 kg (134 lb.).Install Turbocharger
1. Fasten a nylon strap and a hoist to the turbochargers. Put turbochargers (1) and gasket (2) in position in the exhaust elbow and on the exhaust manifolds. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts that hold the turbochargers to the exhaust manifolds. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb.ft.). 2. Install the O-ring seals on both ends of pipes (4), and put clean engine oil on the seals. Install flanges (3) on the pipes.3. Install pipes (4) on the engine. 4. Install O-ring seal (6) on water supply tubes (5). Put engine oil on the O-ring seal, and install the water supply tubes between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifolds. 5. Connect oil supply lines (7) to the turbochargers. 6. Make sure the housing gasket is in position, and install housing (8) on the cylinder block, and connect tube assemblies (9) to the turbochargers. 7. Install the O-ring seals on drain tubes (11), and put clean engine oil on it. Install elbows (12) on the drain tubes.8. Put the elbow gasket and drain tube gasket (10) in position. Install elbows (12) and drain tubes (11).9. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Maintenance Manual.End By:a. install air cleaner housings
