D6H (9KJ567-644, 3ZF5910-5962, 3YG5874-5928, 6CK378-379) TRACTORSProblem:
The loss of Steering Pressure and/or Hydraulic Pressure on the D6H Differential-Steer Tractors may be caused by a blown 8C-3085 O-Ring Seal. This O-Ring is part of the 4T-5896 Valve Group-Check on the 9T-5144 Valve Group-Relief. An oval shaped seal bore in the 9T-5143 Body-Valve (Replaced by a 111-9692 Body-Valve on later machines.) is the cause for the blown O-Ring. Solution:
Remove the 4T-5896 Valve Group-Check from the 9T-5144 Valve Group-Relief and confirm that the O-Ring Seal has blown. Install a new 8C-3085 Seal-O-Ring as a temporary fix. Contact Bob Ray of Joliet Service Engineering, (815)729-5432, to secure a new 111-9692 Body-Valve until a supply is available through Morton Parts. It will be necessary to change the 6V-9200 Elbow to the larger 6V-8724 Elbow on machines with the older 9T-5143 Body-Valve, if the failure occurs on one of them.COPYRIGHT 1994 CATERPILLAR ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
