The new 7G-0897 Thrust Disc is made with a harder material that causes the discs to be more brittle. If the new discs are damaged during installation, cracks could be initiated and the discs will fail in fatigue. The discs must be aligned with both the bores of the carrier and the inside of the bearing of the planetary gears. This alignment is needed in order to prevent the parts from interfering with the installation of the shaft.
