Location of the Front Brake Oil Cooler (see arrow). The oil cooler is located in the center of the machine above the torque converter and engine.
The Front Brake Cooler is at the top and rear of the engine. Engine coolant from the water pump flows through the Brake Oil Cooler. The engine coolant flows back to the cylinder block. The flow line for the brake fluid is next to the Brake Oil Cooler. The engine coolant transfers the heat from the brake oil system to the engine coolant.The front and rear brakes are cooled by oil. When the hoist control valve is in the HOLD, FLOAT, or SNUB position, oil from the brake cooling section of the Gear Pump (Brake, Brake Cooling, Hoist) flows through the brake oil cooler. Oil from the Gear Pump (Brake Cooling) joins the oil from the brake cooling section of the Gear Pump (Brake, Brake Cooling, Hoist) and flows to the brake oil cooler. The Gear Pump (Brake Cooling) is located next to the Gear Pump (Power Train). The oil then circulates around the wet front brakes. The oil then returns to the hydraulic tank through the return screen.The oil cooler relief valve is located in the Control Valve (Hoist). The oil cooler relief valve limits the brake oil cooling pressure when the Control Valve (Hoist) is in the HOLD, FLOAT, or SNUB position. Usually, the oil cooler relief valve is needed only when the brake cooling oil is cold. When the brake cooling oil is at operating temperature, the brake cooling oil pressure is much lower than the oil cooling relief valve setting.
