DRAIN LINE FOR MAXIMUM PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE SETTING
1. Parts from 5P5224 Pressure Gauge Kit. (Use 3J7352 Connector, 5P4775 Hose, 1S8937 Valve, and other necessary parts from 5P5224 Pressure Gauge Kit) Remove 8S1506 Valved Coupler from 1S8937 Valve or put 8S4600 Nipple in the valved coupler to open it. This permits the servo valve to be drained so the stroke of the pump pistons can be controlled. Test 1: Maximum Pressure Relief Valve Setting1. Stop the engine and loosen the fill cap on the hydraulic tank to release any pressure. Tighten the cap.2. Remove the servo valve drain plug from the pump head group and install the connector, hose, and valve. Close this valve.3. Start the engine and run it at the rpm for the test.
Be sure the manual control valve on the flow meter is in the OPEN POSITION before the engine is started.
4. Slowly turn the manual control valve on the flow meter toward the CLOSED position until the flow meter gives an indication of 0 gpm (0 litre/min.).5. Slowly open the valve on the drain line, and drain the oil into a container. Watch the pressure gauge on the flow meter and make a note of the indication where the pressure shows no more increase. This is the maximum pressure relief valve setting.
Do not continue to open the valve after the pressure gauge shows no more increase. This can cause damage to the hydraulic system.
6. Close the valve on the drain line and continue with the System Tests. Hydraulic System Schematic
