The following is a list of codes that are related to the CAN Data Link circuit which is associated with the Chassis ECM.

1893-14 Inertial Measurement/accelerometer : Special Instruction See Inertial Measurement/accelerometer
2183-14(1) Payload Monitoring System : Special Instruction Indicator lights above cab will be switched OFF.
4320-14 Rear Inertial Measurement Sensor : Special Instruction Automatic Retarding Control system may not function correctly.
4321-14 Front Inertial Measurement Sensor : Special Instruction Automatic Retarding Control system may not function correctly.
(1) The diagnostic shall activate if the ECM does not receive some of the expected data link messages, or some expected data in the received messages, when broadcast from the Payload ECU, at a rate greater (faster) than the "J1939 Transmission Repetition Rate", continuously, for greater then or equal to "OK-> Bad Debounce "duration.Table 1 is a list of data link configuration status codes.Note: This diagnostic code reports the data link configuration status, but not the physical condition of the data link.Possible causes for an FMI 14 diagnostic code are:
Incorrect personality module code
Invalid parameter configuration
Incorrect ECM
ECM is flashed with software that is incompatible with another ECMThe diagnostic code is caused by abnormal communications between any of the ECM modules on the machine, and a specific ECM module. The update rate is not correct. Check if a diagnostic code is active related to the data link of the machine or the "Monitor Display" ECM is present. If a diagnostic code is present, correct the related diagnostic code.This failure results in events that are logged against an ECM that cannot be explained directly. The Transmission ECM cannot communicate with this ECM or the ECM appears to communicate intermittently.

Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedure
Prior to beginning this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in this circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure, and in good condition. Check the wiring for pinch points or abrasions. Look for and repair areas that indicate wires are exposed. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before performing a troubleshooting procedure.

1. Identify the Active Code Associated With Data Link
A. Use Cat® Electronic Technician (CatET) to determine codes.
FMI 9 is not present
OK - Code is not present.
Go to Step 5.
NOT OK - Code is present.
Repair:
A. Repair all associated FMI 9 codes(1).
B. Check codes.
* If an FMI 14 code is present after resolving the FMI 9 code, go to Step 5.
* If an FMI 14 code is not present after resolving the FMI 9 code, reset all active codes and clear all logged codes.
STOP
2. Check the Personality Module Code for Application Compatibility
A. Connect CatET.
