Remove the engine and the torque converter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine and Torque Converter - Remove".

Disconnect hose assembly (2) from relief valve (1) . Cap all openings and plug all openings in order to avoid contamination.

Attach a lifting sling to gear pump (3) and piston pump (4) , as shown. Secure the lifting sling to a suitable lifting device.
Remove two bolts (6) and the washers that hold bracket assembly (5) to torque converter (7) .
Remove four bolts (8) and the washers that hold gear pump (3) and piston pump (4) to the flywheel housing.
Remove gear pump (3) , the O-ring seal, and piston pump (4) from the flywheel housing. The weight of gear pump (3) and piston pump (4) is approximately 133 kg (292 lb).

Install Tooling (A) to torque converter (7) , as shown. Position a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A) , as shown. Secure the lifting device to a hoist.
Remove 11 bolts (8) that hold torque converter (7) to the flywheel housing.
Remove torque converter (7) and the O-ring seal from the flywheel housing. The weight of torque converter (7) is approximately 445 kg (980 lb).

Remove bolt (11) , the washer, the lock, and sleeve (9) from the flywheel housing.
Remove two O-ring seals (10) from sleeve (9) .Connection Procedure
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install two O-ring seals (10) to sleeve (9) .
Install sleeve (9) , the lock, the washer, and bolt (11) to the flywheel housing.

Install Tooling (A) to torque converter (7) , as shown. Position a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A) , as shown. Secure the lifting device to a hoist.
Put torque converter (7) and the O-ring seal in position to the flywheel housing. The weight of torque converter (7) is approximately 445 kg (980 lb).
Install 11 bolts (8) that hold torque converter (7) to the flywheel housing.

Install two bolts (6) and the washers that hold bracket assembly (5) to torque converter (7) .

Connect hose assembly (2) to relief valve (1) .End By: Install the engine and the torque converter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine and Torque Converter - Install".
