1. Put identification on the wires for correct assembly. Disconnect wires (1) from fuel shutoff solenoid (2).2. Remove bolts (3) and remove fuel shutoff solenoid (2) and shaft assembly. Remove the shaft assembly from the fuel shutoff solenoid. 3. Remove spring (5). Loosen nut (6). Remove shaft (8) and washer (7) from plunger (4). The following steps are for installation of the fuel shutoff solenoid.4. Install washer (7), nut (6) and shaft (8) in the plunger. Install spring (5). 5. Install the shaft assembly in the fuel shutoff solenoid. Push the shaft assembly into the fuel shutoff solenoid until spring (5) is under full compression and the shaft assembly is in all the way into the fuel shutoff solenoid. Make an adjustment to shaft (8) until dimension (X) is 1.397 in. (35.48 mm). Tighten nut (6).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE6. Put fuel shutoff solenoid (2) and gasket in position on the adapter housing. Make sure the shoulder on shaft (8) is in position behind lever (9) in the adapter housing. Install bolts (3).7. Connect wires (1).8. Two checks must be made on the engine to make sure the solenoid adjustment is correct. See SHUTOFF SOLENOID in TESTING AND ADJUSTING.
