Transmission hydraulic components (3) Oil filterThe gear pump (1) draws oil from the transmission sump through the removable oil suction screen. The oil is directed through the pressure regulating valve (2), and the oil filter (3) .The pressure regulating valve maintains the pressure of the oil that is sent to the transmission control. The transmission control is used to actuate the direction and speed clutches. The amount of oil that is required by the transmission control is only a small portion of the total volume of oil. The remaining volume of oil is directed through the torque converter circuit to the oil cooler. After the oil has been cooled, the oil is returned to the transmission for positive lubrication.
