Check for continuity. Locate VIDS/VIMS interface module #1. Measure the resistance from connector contact 21 (893-GN) to each of the following connector contacts:

Locate the VIDS/VIMS Interface Module #1. Measure the resistance from contact 24 (882-PK) to contact 22 (882-PK).
Measure the resistance between these points.
VIDS/VIMS Main Module contact 23 (883-GY)
VIDS/VIMS Interface Module #1, contact 21 (883-GY)Expected Result:Each resistance measures less than 5 ohms (continuity for each measurement).Results:
OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The CAT data link circuit in the machine harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 6.
NOT OK - The data link contact 22 (892-BR) or contact 21 (893-GN) is open in the machine harness. The machine harness has failed. Repair: The CAT data link circuit is open in the machine harness. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. If conditions are not resolved, proceed to Test Step 6.Test Step 6. REPAIR OR REPLACE VIDS/VIMS INTERFACE MODULE #1.
Interface module #1 replacement must be done in a specific manner. Specific instructions should be followed. Refer to Module Replacement. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, SENR1371, "VITAL INFORMATION DISPLAY SYSTEM (VIDS) FOR 854G WHEEL TRACTOR".Expected Result:The original condition no longer exists.Results:
OK - REPAIR IS COMPLETE. Stop.
NOT OK - The original condition still exists. Recheck the system. Stop.
