Remove the muffler assembly and all mounting brackets. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6523, "Muffler - Remove and Install "
Inspect all parts for damage. Procure new parts listed above and replacement parts, if required.

(5) 313-2418 Plate As
Assemble 313-2418 Plate As (5). Use Loctite C5A or Loctite 8008 high temp anti-seize or equivalent on the threads of the three bolts before assembly. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 10 N m (40.5 7.5 lb ft)

Only hand tighten the bolts.
(4) 277-8728 Bracket As
Assemble 277-8728 Bracket As (4) with the hardware that was removed earlier. Only hand tighten the bolts.
Assemble 277-8722 Muffler As (3) with the hardware that was removed earlier. Only hand tighten the bolts.

Assemble 388-7012 Bent Bolt Clamp (6) with the bolt toward the front of the engine. Do not tighten the bolt on the clamp.

Tighten the bolts that were assembled earlier into 277-8728 Bracket As (4). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 10 N m (40.5 7.5 lb ft)

Tighten the bolts that were assembled earlier into the 277-8722 Muffler As (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 10 N m (40.5 7.5 lb ft) Use the sequence indicated in Illustration 5
Tighten the bolt on 388-7012 Bent Bolt Clamp (6) to a torque of 68 N m (50 lb ft)
