Installation Procedure

(1) Boss. (2) Bolt. (3) Stationary delimbing knife. (4) Delimbing knives. (9) Bearing. (10) Lower bushing. (11) Upper bushing. (12) Shims.
Install lower bushing (10) and upper bushing (11) on inside delimbing knife (4) .
Install bearing (9) on the harvester head. Support delimbing knife (4) with a sling and a hoist. Install delimbing knife (4). Delimbing knife (4) weighs approximately 23 kg (50 lb).
Repeat Steps 1 through 2 in order to install the other delimbing knife.

Attach a hoist and a suitable sling to stationary delimbing knife (3). Install stationary delimbing knife (3). The stationary delimbing knife weighs approximately 32 kg (70 lb).
Install shims (12), bosses (1), the washers, and bolts (2) to stationary delimbing knife (3) .

Install the lever. Install screw (8) that holds the lever to the encoder.

Install the clamp at the bottom of delimbing knives (4). Install screws (7) that hold the clamp together. Tighten set screw (6) on the clamp.
Install the cover. Install the four screws that hold cover (5) in position.

Attempt to move the delimbing knives in a vertical motion on the shaft and attempt to twist the delimbing knives. If the delimbing knives can be twisted, the bushings may need to be replaced.If the delimbing knives only move in the vertical direction more than 1 mm (0.04 inch), shims must be removed.
Remove two bolts (2), the washers, and two bosses (1) .
Remove the appropriate amount of shims (12) .Note: You may need to exchange a thicker shim for thinner shims.Reference: Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7491, "Delimbing Knife Play - Check and Adjust"
Install two bosses (1), the washers, and two bolts (2) .
Install the delimbing knife cylinders.Reference: Disassembly and Assembly, "Delimbing Knife Cylinder - Install"
