ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
1. Remove transmission, output transfer gear group, and torque converter (980 and 825/826 only).
2. Separate the torque converter (980 & 825/826 only), transmission, and output transfer gear group.
3. Disassemble the transmission. Disassemble it only far enough to replace the rotating clutch springs.
4. Clean and inspect components in the transmission.
5. Reassemble the transmission using 3 new 3P-3635 Springs.
6. Reconnect the torque converter (980 and 825/826 only), transmission, and output transfer gear group.
7. Install transmission.

The transmission needs to be reworked on the products listed below. The existing retraction springs in clutch #5 can break, resulting in clutch failure. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 23Dec2011 when scheduling this service.
