When Barrier Control Panel (BCP) isolation switch (6) is moved to the ON position, 24V is supplied to the following components.
AIS LADAR (4A) light curtain (4B) , and gate proximity switch (4C) (Personnel barrier)
BCP reset switch (5)
BCP shutdown switch (7)
Lanyard switch (Machine barrier) (10)AIS LADAR (4A) light curtain (4B) , and gate proximity switch (4C) (Personnel barrier) is supplied 24V from BCP digital input module (21). When personnel barrier (LADAR, light curtain or gate) (4) is active, 24V is returned to BCP digital input module (21). BCP digital input module (21) status indicator "5" (29) and status indicator "13" (33) will illuminate. BCP shutdown interface module (20) sends the status of AIS LADAR (4A), light curtain (4B) , or gate proximity switch (4C) to AIS PLC (11) via the LARN and AOS Ethernet network.BCP reset switch (5) is supplied 24V from BCP digital input module (21). When BCP reset switch (5) is depressed, 24V is returned to BCP digital input module (21). BCP digital input module (21) status indicator "7" (28) will illuminate. BCP shutdown interface module (20) sends the status of BCP reset switch (5) to AIS PLC (11) via the LARN and AOS Ethernet network.BCP shutdown switch (7) is supplied 24V from BCP digital input module (21). When BCP shutdown switch (7) is moved to the RELEASED position, 24V is returned to BCP digital input module (21). BCP digital input module (21) status indicator "1" (27) and status indicator "9" (31) will illuminate. BCP shutdown interface module (20) sends the status of BCP shutdown switch (7) to AIS PLC (11) via the LARN and AOS Ethernet network.Lanyard switch (Machine barrier) (10) is supplied 24V from BCP digital input module (21). When lanyard switch (Machine barrier) (10) is in the SET position, 24V is returned to BCP digital input module (21). BCP digital input module (21) status indicator "3" (26) and status indicator "11" (30) will illuminate. BCP shutdown interface module (20) sends the status of lanyard switch (Machine barrier) (10) to AIS PLC (11) via the LARN and AOS Ethernet network.Barrier Control Panel (BCP) (1) status is now set to active on AIS PLC (11).When all BCP (1) in the AIS area are active, AIS PLC (11) will set the AIS area to armed. AIS PLC (11) sends the area arm message to all BCP (1) in the AIS area.When BCP (1) receives the area arm message, BCP shutdown interface module (20) energizes expander relay (23), AIS warning light (2), and start relay (24).The following will now occur.
24V is supplied to AIS warning light (2) indicating the operations area is armed. BCP digital output module (22) status indicator "9" (36) will illuminate.
Expander relay (23) closes contacts, completing the enable circuit from Machine Shutdown Module (MSM) (9). BCP digital output module (22) status indicator "1" (34) will illuminate. BCP digital input module (21) status indicator "15" (32) will turn off.
Start relay (24) supplies a 24V signal to MSM (9). BCP digital output module (22) status
