Use needle nose pliers in order to hold center pin (19) , as shown. Apply pressure with the pliers to the right side away from the bushing, the spring and the retainer. Depress the retainer and the spring with a seal pick at the same time. This will allow bushing (20) , spring (17) (not shown) and the retainer (17A) to be removed.
Position center pin (19) to the right and remove bushing (20) , spring (17) (not shown), and retainer (17A) .

When removing the spanner nut, dried thread lock may drop in the bearings. Avoid this as much as possible. Flush and lubricate the bearings prior to assembly.
Use Tooling (B) to remove the rotary assembly from the motor housing. The cylinder barrel must not bind as the barrel is pulled through the motor housing.

Remove Tooling (B) from rotating assembly (21) .
Remove the plug and O-ring seal (22) .

Mark the position of hydraulic fitting (23) relative to the motor housing. Remove hydraulic fitting (23) and the O-ring seal.

Pull barrel (24) from the drive shaft and piston assembly (25) .Note: Note the position and the location of beveled washers (26) .
Remove beveled washers (26) and spacer (27) from the center pin bore of the barrel (24) .

Use a section of pipe or suitable block, and put the drive shaft and piston assembly in position, as shown.
Position each piston (28) in the perpendicular position to the retaining plate (29) . Remove pistons (28) by pulling the pistons straight ahead. Remove pistons (28) . The center pin cannot be removed at this time.

Piston rings (30) may break apart during removal from the pistons. If the rings are to be removed, wear eye protection to prevent possible personal injury from flying parts.
Check all seven pistons at Area (X) for scratches and pitting. Make replacements, if necessary.
Use a screwdriver, and remove piston rings (30) from the piston.

Remove screws (31) that hold the retainer plate to the drive shaft assembly. The screws were installed with Thread Lock. Place the rotator assembly in a vise, as shown. Clamp on the spanner nut. Do not clamp on the splined shaft. Use Tooling (C) , as shown. A six-point screwdriver and a wrench can also be used to remove screws (31) .
Remove the retainer plate, center pin (32) , and the retaining washer that holds the center pin in place.

Check center pin (32) for scratches or pitting at Areas (Y) . Replace center pin (32) , if necessary.

Use Tooling (D) and remove the spanner nut from shaft (33) .

Press bearings (34) and ring (35) from shaft (33) .
