Remove Transmission Oil Pump
1. Remove cover plates at rear of operator's station. These plates are right above torque converter. 2. Remove lubrication line (1).3. Disconnect inlet and outlet hoses (2) from the pump. Put caps or covers on the hoses. 4. Remove bolts (3), then remove transmission oil pump (4) from the pump drive.Install Transmission Oil Pump
1. Put the transmission oil pump (1) in position on the pump drive. Install the bolts that hold the pump to the pump drive. 2. Remove caps or covers from inlet and outlet hoses (3), then install them on the oil pump.3. Install lubrication line (2).4. Install cover plates at rear of operator's station.Disassemble Transmission Oil Pump
start by:a) remove transmission oil pump 1. Remove two long bolts (1) that hold the pump together. Turn the pump on end. 2. Remove O-ring seal (3) from cover assembly (2). Remove four bolts (4), then remove cover assembly (2). 3. Remove seal (5) from the cover assembly. 4. Turn the cover assembly over and remove the O-ring seal (6). Remove the two bearings (7) from the cover assembly. 5. Remove idler gear assembly (9) and drive gear assembly (8) from the manifold and body assemblies.6. Remove body assembly (10) from the manifold. 7. Remove O-ring seal (11). Remove two bearings (12) from the manifold. Remove fitting (13), then remove O-ring seal from the fitting.Assemble Transmission Oil Pump
1. Make sure all of the parts of the pump are clean and free of dirt and foreign material.2. Put clean SAE 30 oil on all parts of the pump. 3. Install the two bearings (3) in manifold (2) with tool group (A) until the bearings are .062 in. (1.57 mm) below the machined surface of the manifold. Make sure the junctions in the bearings are 30° 15° from a centerline through the bearing bores and with the junctions toward outlet port (1) in the manifold.4. The bore in the bearings (new) must be 1.2514 .0003 in. (31.786 0.008 mm). 5. Install a new O-ring seal on fitting (5), then install fitting (5) on manifold. Install a new O-ring seal (4) on the manifold. 6. Put body assembly (6) in position on the manifold assembly. 7. Install idler gear assembly (8) and drive gear assembly (7) in the body and manifold assemblies as shown.8. The clearance between the gear assemblies and the machined surface of the manifold assembly (new) must be .0029 to .0045 in. (0.074 to 0.114 mm). 9. Install the two bearings (11) in the cover assembly (10) with tool group (A) until the bearings are .062 in. (1.57 mm) below the machined surface of the cover. Make sure the junctions in the bearings are 30° 15° from a center line through the bearing bores and with the junctions toward outlet port (9) in the cover assembly.10. The bore in the bearings (new) must be 1.2514 .0003 in. (31.786 0.008 mm). 11. Install a new O-ring seal (12) on the cover
