There is spring force against the seat tilt plate. When the cotter pins are removed and the lever is raised, the spring force will be released.To prevent personal injury, retain the seat tilt plate by hand when the cotter pins are being removed. Remove the two cotter pins and slowly release the spring force with your hand against the seat tilt plate.
While you hold down seat tilt plate (6), remove two cotter pins (5). Slowly release the spring force against seat tilt plate (6). Pull up on seat cushion tilt lever (8) and remove seat tilt plate (6). Remove two springs (7) from the seat tilt pan.

Remove the nut and bolt (10) that holds comfort ride sleeve (9) to the seat. Remove comfort ride sleeve (9). Remove the bolt that holds seat belt retractor (11) to the seat. Remove seat belt retractor (11).

Remove two bolts (12) and the locknuts. Remove six bolts (13) and (14), and separate seat pan assembly (15) and the seat backrest from upper slide plate (16).
Lift lever (A) in order to allow the seat backrest to pivot forward.

Remove retainer clip (18) and pin (19) from each end of seat back angling adjuster (17).

Remove retainer clip (20) and cable (21) as a unit from the spring lever. Remove retainer clip (20) and separate seat back angling adjuster (17) from cable (21).
Illustration 11 g00275681Note: When the armrests are removed, the back panel and springs will be removed at the same time.
Remove bolt (24). Remove bolt (23) and the lock washer. Remove right armrest (22), the spacer and the bushing.
Use the procedure in Step 12 to remove the left armrest.

Remove handle (32) from lever assembly (27). Remove roll pin (26) from lever assembly (27). Slide the lever to the outboard side of the seat in order to disengage the lever from inside pivot tab (B). Slide spring (28) from the lever. Remove lever assembly (27) from the seat pan assembly.
Remove handle (29) from seat cushion tilt lever assembly (31). Disengage spring (25) from the roll pin in order to relieve spring pressure. Remove three roll pins (30) from seat cushion tilt lever assembly (31). Slide spring (25) from the lever. Remove seat cushion tilt lever assembly (31) from the seat pan assembly.

Remove two retainer clips (33). Remove handle assembly (34) from upper slide plate (16).
Disassemble handle assembly (34) for fore and aft positioning by removing four screws (36). Then, separate handle (37) from lever assemblies (35).

Unhook spring (40) in order to relieve spring force. Remove pin (38). Remove slide lever/lock shaft (39) and spring (40) from upper slide plate (16).

Turn upper slide plate (16) onto the opposite side. Remove six bolts (41), the locknuts and two brackets (42).

Drill out rivet (44). Remove cable assembly (43) from the seat pan assembly.
