Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Note: For lesser regulated countries, use of diesel fuel containing more than 1.0% (10,000 ppm) sulfur is not approved. If the diesel fuel contains sulfur greater than 0.05% (500 ppm), reduce the oil change interval by one-half.Drain the crankcase while the oil is warm.

Open the crankcase access cover that is under the rear of the machine. Remove the bolts that secure the access cover. Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for information on Containing Fluid Spillage.

Open the crankcase drain valve. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Note: Discard any drained fluids according to local regulations.
Close the drain valve.
Open the rear access door.

Remove the oil filter (3) with a filter wrench. Discard the used oil filter properly.
Clean the filter housing base. Make sure that all of the former filter gasket is removed. Note: Always discard used filters according to local regulations.

Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the gasket of the new filter.
Install the new oil filter by hand. When the gasket contacts the filter base, tighten the filter for an additional three quarters of a turn.
Remove the oil filler cap (2).
Fill the crankcase with new oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, " Capacities (Refill)" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities".

Remove the dipstick (3) and check the oil level. Maintain the oil within area (A) on the dipstick.
Reinstall the dipstick.
Clean the oil filler cap and install the oil filler cap.
Start the engine and operate the engine at low idle for several minutes. While the engine is running, check the filter base for oil leaks.
Stop the engine. Wait for 30 minutes in order to allow the oil to drain back into the crankcase.
Remove the dipstick and wipe off the oil.
Reinsert the dipstick.
Remove the dipstick and check the oil level on the dipstick.
Close the engine access door.
