Use the following procedure to tighten the bolts for the exhaust manifold:
Install the two locating studs to the top holes.
Install the gasket onto the studs then install the exhaust manifold.
Use six M10 X 110 bolts, four M10 X 140 bolts and two M10 X 150 bolts. Hand tighten the bolts and remove the locating studs.
Install the remaining four M8 X 140 and hand tighten the bolts.
Tighten bolt 1 through bolt 12 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 55 N m (41 lb ft).
Again, tighten bolt 1 through bolt 12 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 55 N m (41 lb ft).
Tighten bolt 13 through bolt 16 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 28 N m (250 lb in).
Again, tighten bolt 13 through bolt 16 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 28 N m (250 lb in).
Check all 16 bolts for torque.

(1) Tighten the plug to the following torque ... 20 N m (177 lb in) (2) During assembly, the adaptor should be positioned parallel to the exhaust manifold as shown in the Illustration.
