This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS43692" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

This Revised Service Letter replaces the 05Sep2012 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product and Action Required.

PROBLEM
The existing space heaters (600 watt) on certain 3516B, 3516C, 3516C HD, C175-16, and C175-20 Generator Sets are of a lower power capability than what is required to sufficiently heat and prevent moisture from accumulating on generator windings.

ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the 600 watt 289-0445 Space Heaters with the 1000 watt 383-1418 Space Heaters.
Check wiring to confirm that each space heater is connected to receive 120 volt power.
Certain C175-16 Generator Sets (WYB00136 and up) that are equipped with the 275-4183 EMCP3 Box GP are incorrectly wired for the space heaters. Move wire CR2-12-SJ3 from terminal N726(H2) to terminal N725(H1).
To achieve a greater amount of spacing from the main stator winding, refer to the procedure for mounting the 383-1418 Space Heater in Engine News, "New Procedure for Mounting Space Heater Is Now Available for Certain Cat Engines and Generator Sets".
