Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery Disconnect Switch".

Remove screws (1) in order to remove covers (2). Note: The top cover is held in place with a tape strip. The top cover may be removed by pulling up on the cover with your hands.

A tape strip is attached between windshield wiper control (3) and retarder control (4). Remove the tape strip from the windshield wiper control and the retarder control. See the white arrow in Illustration 2.

After the tape strip has been removed, clean the surface of the windshield wiper control and the retarder control. See the white arrow in Illustration 3.

Remove screws (5) from retarder control (4) in order to disconnect the windshield wiper control from the retarder control.

Disconnect harness assembly (6) in order to remove windshield wiper control (3).
