Removal Procedure
Start By:
Separate the transmission from the engine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine, Torque Converter, and Transmission - Separate".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove retaining ring (1) and retaining ring (2). Remove bearing assembly (3) and output shaft (4).

Remove bolts (5) and cover (6).

Remove O-ring seal (7).

Remove magnetic filter (8) and screen (9).

Remove bolts (10) in order to remove guard (11).

Disconnect harness assemblies (15).
Remove bolts (12) and bolts (13). Remove oil pan (14).

Remove O-ring seals (16), O-ring seal (17), and seal (18).

Remove tube assembly (19) and tube assembly (20). Remove bolts (21) in order to remove housing (22).
