Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine or release of air pressure or oil pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To help prevent possible injury before testing and adjusting any air system or hydraulic system, perform the procedure in the Testing and Adjusting, "General Information" section.
Be sure that the machine is in an open area and that the area is clear of personnel.Place the steering frame lock in the STORED position.Position the machine on a dry, hard, level surface.
Fasten the seat belt. Start the engine.
Raise the bucket slightly.
Pull out the parking brake control knob in order to engage the parking brake.
Move the STIC control lock to the UNLOCKED position.
Move the STIC upshift switch in order to place the transmission in second speed FORWARD. Move the STIC transmission direction control switch to the FORWARD (F) position.Note: With the parking brake engaged and the transmission in any gear except neutral, a Level 3 warning will be active.
Gradually increase the engine speed to high idle. The machine must not move. If the machine moves, check for wear on the plates for the parking brake and on the discs for the parking brake.
Reduce the engine speed to low idle. Move the STIC transmission direction control switch to NEUTRAL (N) position. Lower the bucket to the ground. Stop the engine.
