Metering pump (1) is located under the operator platform, as shown. The direction and speed in turning the machine is controlled by the metering pump. The metering pump is connected to the steering wheel. As the operator turns the steering wheel further, there is an increase in the flow of oil from the metering pump to the steering cylinders. The increased flow causes the cylinders to move faster. Consequently, turning of the machine is faster.Oil Flow
Oil travels through the strainer to the charge pump. The oil is then sent to the steering system. All flow goes to the steering control. All flow that returns from the steering control goes to the charge system. All oil from the steering system flows through the charge filter. The oil is then distributed in order to charge the propel and vibratory pumps.
